Press Statement: Embassy of Yemen Media Office Washington D.C.

Earlier tonight, His Excellency Ali Abdullah Saleh, President of the Republic of Yemen, conducted a number of telephone calls to the leaders of the Gulf Corporation Council (GCC) which included, The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia, and His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, Sultan of the Sultanate of Oman, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Emir of Kuwait, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain and His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates.

President Saleh welcomed the efforts of the GCC to resolve the current political impasse in the homeland. H.E. expressed his deep appreciation to the leaders of the GCC for their strong support for the security, stability and unity of Yemen.
