Two Former Ministers Resign from the Ruling Party

Sana'a, Mar 18, 2011- Two former ministers resigned on Friday from the ruling party after a shooting attack on anti-government protesters in Sana'a.

Doctor Jalal Fakera, a former Yemen's Agriculture Minister and Doctor Abdul Wahab Al-Rohani, a former Yemen's Culture Minister, a farmer Yemen's ambassador to Russia, and a Shura member resigned from the ruling General People Congress party, GPC.

They attributed their resignation to the current political situation in Yemen, to the negative aspect of the Yemeni authorities, and in protest of the violence against protesters who are demanding the fall of Saleh's regime.

Today evening, Yemen's Tourism Minister, Nabil Al-Fakeh resigned from his post and quit the ruling party on Friday after a shooting attack on anti-government protesters in Sana'a, becoming the first cabinet member to defect in the crisis.
