Sana'a- Mar 9, 2011- According to the media department of the peaceful revolution, one person was killed, 80 people were injured, eight of them still in critical condition, when security forces attacked anti government protesters in Yemen’s capital Sana’a. Protesters have been gathering at the Sana’a University Change Square for more than one month demanding the fall of the regime.
The attack is considered the biggest against protesters in Sana’a over the last two months.
However, governmental sources claim that the anti government protesters tried to sneak in the camps machine guns and other items that could be used as weapons, which resulted in the injury of three governmental soldiers.
The opposition Joint Meeting Parties spokesperson, Mohammed Qahtan, denounced the attacks and held President Saleh responsible for the attack.
