Sana'a, Mar 18, 2011- At least 41 anti-government protesters were killed and 200 wounded, 30 of them in critical condition, at Sana'a University campus on Friday when Yemen's security forces fired live bullets on protesters.
Eyewitness said that the clashes began after government supporters and anti-government demonstrators threw rocks at each other. Security forces shot into the air and then into the crowd, they also fired tear gas to try to disperse the crowd.
Private sources told the Yemen 24 News that most of the injured were hit in their heads and chests.
On the other hand, source in Yemen said that president Ali Abdullah Saleh will hold a press conference soon. No more details were reported.
