France strongly condemns Yemen attack on protesters

PARIS, March 18 (Reuters) - The French government said on Friday it strongly condemned a shooting attack in Yemen that killed dozens of protesters and urged the authorities to protect peaceful demonstrators.

"We deplore that there were so many victims," the foreign ministry said in a statement. "It is now imperative that attacks by security forces and armed pro-government groups cease against people exercising their rights to free speech and demonstration."
