Sana'a, Mar 18, 2011- The Malaysian government has begun its evacuation process to bring home Malaysians from Yemen after the situation worsens in capital Sanaa.
In a statement issued on Friday, Malaysian Foreign Affairs Ministry said the first batch of 10 Malaysians, including nine students and a baby, had arrived in Malaysia Thursday night.
The second batch involving 23 Malaysians will reach home on three different flights on Friday.
A total of 27 Malaysians would also be brought out of Yemen on Friday, said the ministry, adding that this group would reach Malaysia Saturday morning.
Yemen has been experiencing anti-government protests since mid February. The situation has recently been tensioned, leaving scores of people died and many others injured.
