SANA'A, May 13, 2012- Unknown gunmen hurled on Saturday
evening a hand grenade at the house of Yemen's Information Minister in the
Yemeni capital, Sana'a, wounding one person when they opened fire as they fled
the scene.
"Two men on a motorcycle hurled the
grenade at house of Yemen's Information Minister, Ali al-Amrani, wounding one
of the minister's neighbors," the minister's office reported.
Al-Amrani survived an apparent assassination
attempt by gunmen last January.
Yesterday's attack underscored the fragile
security situation in the country, where President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi,
urged on by the United States, is trying to crush militants linked to al-Qaeda
in the south.
