Sana'a, Mar 16, 2011- Yemeni authorities released on Wednesday the oldest prisoner from Yemen's central jail in Sana'a province after being jailed for almost 15 years on political charges.
Bajash Al-Aghabari was arrested in 1995 in Shabwa province on charges of establishing an organization for Justice and Equal after separatist war end in 1994.
Al-Aghabari attributed the release of him to the youth revelation in which the President Ali Abdullah saleh's regime nowadays faces."I demanded the government to release me, but my request was refused,'' he added.
A Yemeni court sentenced him to death, but then his verdict changed to 20 years and he spent 15 years of that verdict in jail.
