At least seven suspected Al-Qaeda militants were killed in new clashes between Al-Qaeda militants and security forces in Yemen's southern province of Abyan.
Private sources told media outlets that an armed group attacked a security checkpoint in Amain, Lawder district on Saturday morning which resulted in the killing of the Al-Qaeda members and the burning their vehicle and motorcycle.
The same sources said that suspected Al-Qaeda militants laid siege on lawder hospital after the hospital refused to hand the body of the deaths to them.
Lately, Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, AQAP, has increased its attacks against Yemen's forces since the rise of protests demanding President Ali Abdullah Saleh to step down.
