Seven Parliament Members Resign from the Ruling Party in Protest of Current Crisis in Yemen

Sana'a- Feb 23, 2011- Seven ruling party members Parliament announced on Wednesday their resignation from the ruling General People Congress party, GPC.

Abdul Aziz Jobari, a Yemeni parliament member said that he and his partners submitted their resignations to the party's block leader, Sultan Al-Brakani.

The MPs attributed their resignation to the current political situation in Yemen, and to the negative aspect of the Yemen's authorities in which treated protesters harshly.

Two members of Yemeni parliament announced last week their resignation from the ruling party, while Ali Al-Amarni froze his membership in the ruling party in protest of the current crisis in Yemen.
