The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, took part at the joint meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf and the Gulf Cooperation Council Committee on Financial and Economic Cooperation convenes in Riyadh at the GCC general secretariat Sunday (Dec. 18) ahead of the 32nd GCC Summit, scheduled to be held tomorrow Monday.
The Foreign Ministers agreed on the completion of GCC Customs Union establishment requirements and to build up on what have been agreed upon such as the common customs law, the common customs tariff, the one entry point, and the resolution of outstanding issues, in addition, they decided to establish a customs Union Commission and unification of Customs procedures.
On the other hand, Conferees met with the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Yemen who presented a briefing on the political and security developments in Yemen, and the formation of the national unity government, where the GCC Foreign Ministers welcomed this step and reiterated the GCC States’ support to the Republic of Yemen to ensure the prevalence of security and stability there.
